A busy week's "holiday"!!

Well - time for a new post in case you think I'm a one post wonder!
I had a week off work to spend with my daughter who is home from university.
So..... last Sunday I went to the Big Stamp Show at Ally Pally. Lots of lovely things to buy!!
However I only came home with one set of stamps from Little Claire Designs, a pot of Flitterglu and some gilding flakes from Indigoblu, some new dies and lots of cardstock. I think that was pretty restrained!
Monday we had a family day out in Oxford including a delicious lunch.
Tuesday..........Titanic!!!  I'd never seen it at the cinema so it had to be done!!
Thursday ....Niamh "needed" to go to Lakeside where they have a huge Primark but I did find useful crafting bits too!!!
Friday...big food shop to go back to uni.
Saturday - crafting day and here is what I did with some of those Primark bits plus some buttons and flowers.

Primark band with felt hearts

Old flowers - new band

Clips with felt and buttons

More buttons! Earrings and hairclip.

And finally.........button earrings!

Cute frogs!

Now just to get everything packed and the house tidy again!

Golden Weddings!

These are the cards I finished today. My mum asked me to make two wedding anniversary cards for her cousins. The card with the cross is a stamp from Wild Rose Studio and I have also used some of their wedding backing papers. The other card uses cameo stamps from Waltzingmouse Stamps. Hope you like them and more importantly I suppose that my Mum likes them!!!

A first time for everything!

Hello and Welcome to my very first post! I think the best place to start would be with an introduction to who I am and what this blog is going to be about! Well, in the immortal words of Rodgers and Hammerstein "let's start at the very beginning" so off we go...

An explanation for the title of this blog...I live in Essex with my husband and daughter (who also writes a blog!) but I'm an Oxford girl at heart...hence the dreaming spires as described by the poet Matthew Arnold (you can read the whole poem here as it's rather long).

And what do I plan to do with this blog?! Well as I am an avid crafter I plan on posting the things I make for the world to see :D

Yours in Crafting
Sarah
